Gold Coast Holidays at Burleigh Heads
Burleigh Heads is a lovely central spot on the Gold Coast that has so much hidden appeal. The beach nearby is well patrolled, with Burleigh Heads serviced by not one but three surf life saving clubs. North Burleigh Surf Club, Burleigh Heads Surf Club and Mowbray Park Surf Club, and their club rooms are all licensed dining premises. Have a drink, enjoy the view and perhaps stay for a bite to eat.
You’ll enjoy the central position to the rest of the Gold Coast. Whether you like to travel by car or take public transport while on holiday, it’s quite possible to park the car for the duration of your visit to the Gold Coast and take the bus. Services run to from Kirra to Southport so all you major beach destinations are covered.
Perhaps you would rather stay local while on holiday. This is the modus operandi of many of our guests. The beaches are safe and well patrolled, along with a well-shaded greenbelt that buffers the beach from the esplanade. You’ll find public BBQs, and shaded dining areas in strategic areas.
The jewel in the crown is Burleigh Heads Point where you’ll find Burleigh Heads National Park. It’s a small but perfectly formed vignette of Australian bush. Large enough to contain a number of trails to traverse, and to support a range of wild life. Expect to see various lizards, including water dragons and bush turkeys in this habitat. The views from Tumgum Lookout will impress. Pick the right season and it’s likely you will see migrating Humpback Whales, other times manta rays are a common fixture. Walk down to Tallebudgera Creek for some great swimming and snorkelling. If you’re a keen surfer this is also where the locals like to go in to catch the waves at the point.
