David Fleay Wildlife Park

David Fleay Wildlife Park

Take a walk on the wild side to David Fleay Wildlife Park, set amongst rainforest and open eucalypt forest just minutes from Burleigh Heads.

The Wildlife Park has been showcasing Australia’s amazing wildlife in beautiful habitat-inspired surrounds since its establishment in 1951, by renowned naturalist Dr David Fleay.

Take your time and wander along a network of boardwalks and paths in the park, winding through wetlands, rainforest and open eucalypt forest. You’re extremely likely to discover platypus, cassowaries, tree-kangaroos, crocodiles and more.

Then take the time to visit the nocturnal house to get up close and personal with rarely-seen creatures of the night, such as mahogany gliders, greater bilbies and Julia Creek dunnarts.

You can explore the park at your own pace, or join one of the daily ranger-led wildlife presentations. Reconnect with nature through their stories, and be thrilled as animals swoop, jump, slither and glide around you.

Make a day of it and picnic in the lush grounds or drop into the cafe and enjoy a relaxing Devonshire tea on the verandah.
