Take a Walk to Burleigh Headland
Take a walk to beautiful Burleigh Headland and take in the spectacular views of Burleigh Beach right up to the hi-rise buildings of Surfers Paradise. During the winter months you may even be able to spot a Humpback Whale or two whilst they migrate up the coast for breeding season.
Burleigh Point is a renowned surfing spot on the Gold Coast and surfers of all abilities surf this right point break that produces a consistent wave and some heavy barrels. Sit for a while on top of the headland and watch the surfers carve up the waves.
Burleigh Heads National Park, with the entrance at Burleigh Headland offers scenic walks and a lush rainforest to explore. If you start on the Burleigh Heads side and take the walk through the National Park, you will end up following the shores of Tallebudgera Creek and if you are so inclined, you could end up with your own private beach to have a swim and cool off.
There are a few options for walks across the headland, including a flatter track tracing the shoreline around the hill or a more challenging walk up to the top of the hill which has several spots to stop and take in the magnificent views over Burleigh Beach and Tallebudgera Estuary.
Grab a bottle of wine and pack a picnic and head up to the headland to watch the sunset to the west, watching the surfers grab the last waves of the day. Burleigh Headland is one of the most scenic places on the Gold Coast at sunset and it really is the place to be on a balmy summer evening.
